Dr Fegelman in Cincy
Hello!
Dr. Fegelman is doing my surgery on March 20. I really liked him when I met him.
The staff at the weight loss center did say that he used to be very conservative with the fills but that now he is much more aggressive. My primary suggested Dr. Fegelman
or UC Surgeons. However, I have heard good things about Dr. Curry and he frequents this sight. Jewish Hospital Weight Loss Center has a very structured after care
program and since I am from the East Side, it is closer. I'll let you know how it goes.
Nancy,
My surgery was scheduled 6 weeks out from my apt. with him. The entire process has taken about 4 months. I attended a lap band class and received my pre-surgery diet two weeks ago. i go Tuesday for my second class and weigh - in. He will not do the surgery if you have gained weight since the apt. I guess a lot of patients go on an eating binge and this makes surgery difficult. I have tried to stick to the diet most of the time.

Nancy,
I have a nutritional beverage for breakfast and a small piece of fruit.(Slim Fast Optima)
10:00 South Beach Protein bar
1:00 Smart Ones preportioned meal w/ 2 cups salad & 2 TBSP Dressing
4:00 Nutritional beverage
7:00 3oz. chicken or fish, small baked potato or 1/2 cup rice
2 tsp margerine, cooked vegetables.
It's not bad.

He doesn't require that you lose weight prior to surgery? Does he just want you to maintain your current weight? Any explanation as to why he doesn't do the liquid thing pre-op? And out of curiousity if you could give us a timeline of events leading up to getting a surgery date. It's reassuring having people out there going to the same place and have some experiences with the center. Thanks!! MLBrown
Dr. Fegelman does not require a liquid diet pre-op. However, he will not do the surgery if you have gained since the last apt. They want you to lose or maintain
your current weight. Many people have a series of "last suppers" before surgery and gain. This makes surgery more difficult.
I attended an information session end of December.
I received my packet in the mail and quickly gathered all necessary documentation.
I had my nutrition consultation and psych eval. at the center in January.
I met with Dr. Fegelman the second week of February.
Met with anesthesia & pre-op physical - March 7
Attended class and received pre-op diet on March 11.
I have my second class and weigh-in tomorrow night. I receive post -op
information.
Surgery is Tuesday, March 20 @ 9:00 a.m.
I hope this helps.
Yes-it's very helpful. My first visit was the 13th of February. I went there with all the necessary documentation required. I've been approved and now I'm waiting for them to receive the approval-send me a letter on my next step. I was hoping to have all of this done by early April but looks like that won't be the case.
