Insurance approval in one day!
Newbie here! However, I've been reading the boards for months after deciding on the lap-band. I choose the Jewish Hospital-Weight Management Center for my surgery. Before going for my first appointment with them I had all of my tests done-blood work, EKG-2, Pulmonary function test, cardiac clearance, psych eval, abdominal ultrasound which led to CT scan of the abdomin, 6 months of dr. supervised weight loss. That visit was on the 13th of February. All my info was sent to the insurance company by the 16th and wouldn't you know they didn't receive(I made a follow up call myself on the 7th of March). They faxed it to my insurance on the morning of the
9th and I had a verbal approval by noon when I called to confim they got it. Now I just have to wait for the center to send me a letter letting me know what to do next. Very exciting. If anyone has been to Jewish Hospital-Kenwood for the lap-band I would love to hear what you have to say.
I have yet to even meet him. On my first visit to the center I met with the nutritionist, someone took my vitals and I briefly spoke to the lady that handles the insurance. I haven't had an in depth conversation with anyone really. I chose Jewish Hosp. because of it's location and when I called for information they were very friendly. What is you experience with them? I'd like to hear whatever you or anyone else has to say. The more information the better. Thx!
I chose Jewish because it was the least expensive. Nobody on this site seems to know anything about him. I went to one of his seminars but that is the extent of my contact with him. On 3/20 I have an appointment...just a physical in the morning and a pysch evaluation in the aftternoon. I don't know when I'll see him. I sort of feel in limbo right now. I live in Harrison, OH about 25 minutes West if Cincy, so it is close for me, too.
Stay in touch,
Nancy
Yes, it does seem difficult finding people on this site that have had their surgery done by Dr. Fegelman. I think that's because there aren't many people out there that now about ObesityHelp.com. Since Dr. Curry does quite a bit of posting I'm sure he passes on the info about this site to his patients. I found this place by accident and boy am I glad I did. The information is overwhelming. I have read one post here from someone who either went to Dr. Fegelman or knew someone who did and they had nothing but nice things to say. Dr.Curry also posted that he was a good physician. So we'll both keep our fingers crossed and I look forward to hearing how you visit goes. Talk to you soon.
