Got my date.....3/20/07 at 0830
Hello World! The time is coming fast and I am looking forward to it. I still need to go to the store and get food. Any suggestions? I am 5'9" and weight about 322. Looking forward to being a LOT less! I will have to have one of those strainer things put in the day before surgery. Dr. Stephan Myers is my doctor at Riverside in Columbus, Ohio. Is there an angel out there? Talk to you soon!!!
Dawna,
Congratulations to ya. Very exciting news. Before you know it, it will be here. Your at about where I was. I was about 40 pounds heavier the day of my surgery. You will do just great.
Not sure on what to suggest for food. I had a huge problem with all the protein drinks and finding one that I could actually keep down. I found the Carnation Instant Breakfast to fit the bill. The others were just to think and they smelled horrible to me. So my only suggestion is to buy small qualities until you find what works for you. Someone told me that GNC has protien drinks and if you don't like them even b/c of the taste they will take them back. They also have small samples I guess that you can buy. I just got home from my surgery last Wednesday night and haven't been out to the store to see if this is true with my local GNC or not.
I really hope this helps. You will be in my thougts and prayers on the 21st. Everything will be just fine and soon you will be "a LOT less!"
Best wishes to you!!
Kym
Wonderful news!!! I had my LAP RNY on 3/7. I feel great and down almost 12 lbs.
The protein drinks are weird. I tried alot of them to see what I could get down, get past the smell, the after taste etc. There are some on www.bariatriceating.com that are good and you can order a sample kit with shaker that gives you several to try. I also found that GNC Whey Protein dissolves better and tastes better than the other brands I tried from Walmart. They are around $40 at GNC for a big canister. Other than that, I stocked up on soup, soup, soup, and more soup. I can't wait to get to the puree stage!!!!!
Good luck!
