I'M APPROVED !!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I got the word yesterday from my Insurance Company that I'm am approved. I am now waiting on my call from Holzer as to a surgery date. Yea Yea Yea I just wanted to share this GREAT news. Thanks for listening. Annetta

Thank you Peggy. It is a wonderful feeling. When the girl at Med. Mutual told me that I was approved, I kept asking her if she was sure. Ha Ha Even last night afer I went to bed I kept wondering "What if she gave me the wrong info. for someone else." Ha Ha I think I'm still in shock. Med. Mutual had denied me and I got that denial on the 15th of February, the day we buried my Mother. Holzer filed an appeal on the 20th of February and the girl at Med. Mutual said I was approved on the 26th. Fast work. Ha Ha

why were you denied the first time? I am going to be going through med mutual and I start my 6 month medically supervised diet next friday. I want to make sure I have my doctor write the right stuff down.

Hi Dave, Congratulations on your insurance approval. I met you at the Fresh Start Seminar. I too have received insurance approval recently from United Healthcare. I see Dr. Mikami at OSU on 3/12/07 and hopefully will receive a surgery date after that preop appointment. My only concern is that I was to lose weight before I saw Dr. Mikami and I am struggling to do that. I feel like I have to starve myself this week in order to hit the mark for the appointment next Monday. Well again congrats and I look forward to following your journey online. Teresa

Congratulations Dave - Isn't it a wonderful feeling? I have been researching and working on this for 2 1/2 years and finally I've got approval. Good luck with your surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers. Annetta

I was denied the first time because Med Mutual said that they needed proof of my 6 month diet. My PCP had written a letter of support detailing those 6 month. Here what Med Mutual wanted a copy of the actual notes that the doctor and her nurse kept. The first time it was submitted on the 15th of January and I received my denial on the 15th of February. I was not suprised that it was a denial, because I felt that if it was an approval it would have been a shorter time. (But I'm not sure). But the appeal only took actually 4 business days.
