more questions about united healthcare choice plus
Its me again obsessing about united healthcare choice plus coverage. Does anyone out there in ohio work or spouse work for Cingular wireless and have this particular plan and has sucessfully been approved for wls. Yes, my husband has multiple co morbidities...sleep apnea being the number one. He is unable to tolerate the cpap and exhausted and not well. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
The insurance coordinator at my dr.'s said UHC is a dream to work with UNLESS there is a WLS exclusion in the policy. Exclusion means just that---not covered. It is put there not by the insurance company but by the employer. I had UHC at the time of my surgery. It had an exclusion. I self-paid. (Best money I ever spent!) However, UHC did pay for my first office visit to the surgeon, all prescriptions, all labs. They are VERY good. (Unlike Anthem which I and my school now pay $$$ for but get little in return. except letters saying NOT COVERED for obviously covered things)
-174 lbs. since 12/05/05. Goal: -26 more by 6/2007.
I dont work for Cingular but I do have UHC Choice Plus call them and they will give you all the guidelines you or hubby must meet. They were very helpful to me and I was approved in a week. My plan was Definity prior to UHC buying them out. But it is all about what the employer wants on your plan. I do live in Ohio.
