Has anyone had surgery at st.josephs hospital? Dr.Vanek?

I'm scheduled for my initial consult w/Dr Vanek 3/28/07. How far have you gotten? I clicked on bariatric surgeons and typed in his name. there were several postings about him (all good, felt a lot less nervous after reading) the only thing was the postings were older. Where are you from? What type of surgery are you planning to get? I'm all for the band. I really hope this will work because being more round than tall is not a good look for me. I had surgery withDr. Vanek at St. E's. The surgeon was great but the hospital was not. If you can get the surery at St. Joe's I'd recommend it. My friend got it done there and had a great experience. I got dropped off a gurney, almost suffucated...Just bad! Doing ok now, almost three years later. I lost 100 pounds and gained back 20 with a pregnancy. I am having blood sugar problems now. Hopefully I can get that under control. They seem to be common a couple years after RNY. Good Luck!
