Anthem BC/BC-PPO-Blue Access

This is my insurance and I'm hoping to have my things turned into them my Friday for approval. They say they have 30 days to answer... I'm wondering if anyone has had Anthem and how long it took to get an answer?

I have the same plan and I was approved within a week. I also needed to lose 203, so my BMI was high. Good luck to you.

I have the same insurance and all weight-loss surgery is a written exclusion. I wonder what the difference is?

I don't know. They covered mine. I have to pay the bill for psych eval and meeting with the NUT b/c they are both out-of-network.

Mine also has a written exclusion! My husbands employer has the exclusion on the policy, i think thats what makes the difference in the policies, and ours is Anthem B/C B/S Blue Access PPO, it really stinks ! Delilah

Hello! I have the "same" plan and I was approved in 10 days. I don't know what the diference would be but I am sure that employers can add or take away services. Waiting for approval was more stressful than buying a house! Good Luck!

It isn't the ins. company that writes the exclusion... it's the company who purchases the ins. Your place of work decides what coverages to purchase and many of them opt out of WLS coverage.

Hello, this plan is quick and painless, at least it was for me. I was approved in 2 days and had a surgery date a month later. The employers are the ones who decided to exclude something for a cheaper rate. Blessings
