Question about Dr. David Schumacher in Miamisburg

Hi, I called Dr. Schumacher's office about one month ago asking questions about if he charged anything over my medicare...Some doc's in Georgia charge almost $3,000.00 over their insurance. . Whom ever answered the phone at Dr. Schumacher's said no he does not. charge anything over what my insurance pays... Does anyone know if he really does charge anything above what the insurance pays..? Also I asked the lady to send me a packet of info..She took my address here in Georgia, after I explained I'm from Ohio and have family near Dayton...A week and a half went by and I didn't see it..So I called his office again and asked if they sent my papers? The lady said we don't send anything out you have to come to a meeting then get your packet...Sooooooooo to say the least I don't trust what is being said to me... Kathryn in Georgia from Ohio

Kathryn, I know Dr. Schumacher and have visited his center on a few occasions. I unfortunately am not at all familiar with his staff but do know the he is a good surgeon. The director of the weight loss center would be happy to address any issues you may have directly, I am sure. I have medicare and when I was going through the process. I believe they told me there was nothing charged after the medicare. They are really nice and helpfull. They did not send me a packet either. I am sorry something has happened to put doubt in you. Maybe whom you talked to was having an off day. I wish I could give you more info on this but my road on this got an unexpected detour, just before I got my date. I wish you luck, Linda

Kathryn, I have been in contact with Chris Sexton, program director for the center/hospital where Dr. Schumacher performs surgery.
