Quick question (as I will have many) Does anyone know if you have to have your 6 month medically supervised diet completed before any consultations or just before everything is submitted to insurance? thanks, Angela

HI Angela, In my case, I needed everything before it was submitted to insurance. Good luck to you, Michelle

Angela, Each practice is probably different, but we do the supervised diets with ourselves so we usually do the initial consult first. It certainly wouldn't hurt to get started with your PCP though, just make sure the visits are at least monthly and that you have your doctor document diet, exercise, weight, and BMI. I recommend that you call your insurance company and ask everything that they need before submitting. You might find that you don't need to do it at all.
