LOOKING FOR A SURGEON

Has anyone dealt with st elizabeth & st joseph surgical weight loss center in youngstown oh? Or, does anyone know if there are any surgeons in/around beaver, pa? I have blue cross blue shield and they pay for lapband and nutritional counseling, but I don't know what kind of hoops I'll have to go through. I hope it's not going to take years, I really would like to have the surgery soon. I've been researching this for about 8 years, but made up my mind that this is the way to go within the last 3. I'd love some advice!!

While I'm not familiar with the surgical ctr. you speak of, I just wanted to wish you luck--The lapband has been an amazing tool for me, and I wish the same for you--Keep us posted!

Could you please tell me what your experience was like? Did you notice an immediate change or did you have to have several adjustments. Was pain severe or more like exercising too much? How long did it take to lose a noticeable amount? I've been hoping someone who had the band would respond, I really appreciate any info you feel like sharing!! ;-)

Crystal, I LOVE my band! But I do have to remember that it is a tool! I started losing right away - but any weight loss before a fill is a bonus.. some lose before - some don't... The pain after surgery was bearable - BUT that being said - I am very sensitive to pain... so I did consume ALL of my given pain meds.... I am 8 months out and down 73.5 pounds (this is with a stall due to foot surgery... and I am now starting back on track and starting to move around!)
