Thawing?
Hi Princess T,
I am too anxiously awaiting spring, this cold weather is getting the best of me. I am still adjusting to my new pouch. This has been a little more difficult than I expected it to be, I am having a hard time finding foods that taste good to me, so far the only form of protein I can tolerate is fresh mozzarella and crab meat. People keep telling me around 3 months it will get better and boy do I hope they are right. It has been 9 weeks and I have lost 62 lbs so I am happy with that but just wish I could tolerate proteins better. I am glad you checked in to say hi and hope you stay warm!!

Hi Miss T...
I too am anxiously awaiting the arrival of sunshine and warm weather. I feel so much better mentally and physically when I can be out and about.. I work at Walmart and they started putting the bathing suits out yesterday.. Yippppeee a size 12 instead of a 33/32.. I have been swimming in a horrible suit that had lost all elasticity and I was afraid of a mishap in the water as I was working out. So as soon as the income tax comes I am getting a snazzy new suit..
Take care and enjoy this wonderful day.. Cold, But hey we are alive.. LOL

Hi Princess
I am feeling you on spring! I see you had your surgery in September, I've been
approved for mine, just waiting on the letter so I can begin my scheduling and
things, since you are so new, do you have any advice for me for the first few
weeks? how do you get your protein in? did you lose hair? any regrets?
I'm really psyched and scared to death all at the same time lol
The first few weeks truly are the most trying. You are in some pain, you can't eat more than a bite or two of anything, you feel this pressure to eat so much protein and so much water...my advice would be this. Do the best you can with what you eat and drink. You will probably NOT hit those "minimums" in the beginning (somedays I still struggle). Just do your best. Rest and relax and heal. Don't fret about the scale (you really can't screw this up for the first few months) - stay off of it if you can stand it!! I added protein powder to everything in the beginning - now I am existing on mostly milk, cheese and meats to get my protein. I have had some thinning of my hair, but not like others have reported - but even if you do, remember that hair grows back - and thinning hair is much healthier than a thicking (hey, if thin can have a verb form, why can't thick?) waist!
Regrets? I have days yes. But for each one day when I think I may have made a mistake I have 50 others where I'm thrilled with the results. In less than 5 months I'm down ALMOST 90 pounds (thats some serious rounding on my part!). My jeans have gone from 26s to 20s (same brand/style) and the 20s, are loose enough (with the stretchy fabric they have now) that I can take them down without unbuttoning them. I think 18s would still be too tight, so I'm living with the "casual" fit 20s for now.
I'm off my blood pressure and potassium pills. Yes, I now take vitamins and stool softeners on a daily basis, but that beats the heck out of Blood pressure meds!!
If you weren't scared a little, there'd be something wrong...if you weren't excited...there'd be something wrong. Relax and enjoy the PREP and the SURGERY and the RESULTS - its an interesting journey. Not easy, but interesting.
