1 week post op

Hello all, I am new to this site. I have been reading the forums for weeks. I just had gastric bypass surgery, and it is the best thing that I could have ever done. I work for Ohio Health and it took 9 days for my approval. I of course had lots of leg work to do, but it was all worth it. I had a wonderful surgeon. His program Fresh Start Bariatrics was heaven sent at just the right time. I am so blessed and I thank God every day. I just wanted to say hello to all and introduce myself. Teresa

Congrats Teresa... I also am new to OH... and new to this Journey... I have my first vist with Dr Chand next month.. I am so looking forward to this, and I am really dedicating my life, I know this is not just a way to loose weight but a life style change for me! Teresa congrats on your first week and the beginning of a new you!!!I too work for OhioHealth and am at the start of my journey I have been approved but am just at the second visit with the dietician stage exactly how long until you get final approval . Also did you need to have the vena cava filter placed before surgery? good luck-cindy

Hello Cindy, I was very lucky , I did not have to have the filter placed, but one of the women that had sugery the same day as me had to have one placed. It was no big deal for her. So, I think you should be ok. You will need 3 visits with the dietitian. Then you should be on your way. With Ohio Health , it took 9 days for final approval and I was in surgery 7 days later.
