Dr. Rita Anderson & Dr. Trace Curry - revisions
Confusing subject line, huh?
Just a couple questions. Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Rita Anderson? I have been researching surgeons and surgeries, and had emailed them a question and her office called me today to go ahead and schedule an appointment to come in and discuss.
Also, I've gotten SO much feedback on Dr. Curry that I would really like to talk to him as well. I called the office just a bit ago, but I guess I was just a little too late. I left an email on his website as well, so hopefully I will hear something back. I still haven't heard from anyone - does he do revisions?
Thanks!!!
Jill
Jill,
I had Dr. Rita Anderson and Kettering Hospital back in 11/2003 and both are GREAT.
I had open RNY.
I live in Franklin and so I'm closer to Kettering /Dayton and Dr. Curry wasn't around at that time yet.
I have heard Dr. Curry speak at support meetings and no mattter who you chose I think you will be in GREAT HANDS.
Meet with both and see who YOU feel the best with, look at both hospitals also.
Good Luck,

Hi, Jill!
I don't know if Dr. Curry doen revisions or not, but he does now have an office much closer to you (West Chester). He's doing an andoscopy on me Thursday, as I think I may have an hiatal hernia. Dr. Curry is great surgeon. He never fails to call if you leave a message. Also, his staff is really great at processing paperwork necessary for insurance approval. I highly recomend him! This procedure has saved my life, and given me a much better quality of life. I'm sorry I didn't have it done sooner. I was at 301# at my first consultation with Dr. Curry. I now weigh 280#, having lost 121# since March 27, 2005.

I had Dr. Rita Anderson. I survived it. My impression is that she is not that experienced in lap surgery as she had planned lap, but then ended up doing open on me. She said she had trouble with my gall bladder incission. But there was an 18 year old who also had it the same day and she was supposed to do lap on her and ended up doing open. So my thoughts are she is not that experienced with lap. Better to do open than kill me. I am doing well however. My pcp would only refer me to Rita, because he went to school with her.
My thoughts are that she will not risk your health but she is still not totally comfortable with the lap procedure. Your mileage may vary.
