Cleveland Support Group?

I'm moving back to Cleveland after several years away. Anybody know of a good WLS support group there? When and where? Thanks!

Hello! There is one that meets at the Cleveland Clinic once per month. I'll be hangin' there! It is the 2nd Thursday of the month. (I think they tell a bit about it on CCF's website in the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute section.) I know I have some more around here somewhere..... I'll look. I think there is one in North Olmsted also. I haven't had my surgery yet, still waiting for a date. (A surgery date....not a date date!) Will you be on the East side or West side? -Karen

Hello, My name is Nate I am 15 years old and I weigh 315 pounds. I recently went to see my surgeon Dr. Schauer at Cleveland Clinic for the LAPBAND surgery. I have already went to the workshop in November. Dr. Schauer accepted my surgery as long as the pedatric at CC will accept me then I will get a surgery date ( after insurance ) He also said that there is a support group. I would like to go to one of those. Where is it? Is there any teenagers there? Tuesday I am going to get blood work, a few x rays, and check EKG at CC Jan 29 I will see a nutritionist at CC Feb 1 is the last day of all of my apointments which is to see the pediatric at CC I hope to come to one of the support groups Thanks Nate

Nate, Hi! I wonder if we were at the same surgical workshop? I was there on November 29th. Anyhow, there is a support group meeting there every 2nd thursday evening of the month. This Thursday (the 11th) there is one. I believe at 6p.m. but I will double-check. I give you so much credit for taking responsibility for your health and making such a difficult decision at such an early age. I do not know whether there are other teens, perhaps Dr Schauer's nurse might know. Take care and all the best to you! -Karen
