question about protein and meals????
I am only 10 days since surgery 28 Dec. Protein???I am having a very hard time eating every couple hours. Can someone share a sample menu of what time and what they eat. i am so confused, i am 15 lbs down but I am not sure if it the right way, i feel like i am not eating enough....dazed and confused...
10 days - you have nothing to worry about!! You're not supposed to feel like eating. At 10 days I was sipping water, juice water down, SF popsicles, watered down protein drinks, and a little 1% milk (very little).
After that, I would have baby food apples - could only eat 1/2 small jar and used a baby spoon. I would also have a few teaspoons of blended chicken or fish with a little bit of light miracle whip.
Don't forget that ou rfluids count as a meal.
Good luck!!
I had my surgery the day after you and I can't get in enough water or protein. I have heard that it is easier once we can eat "real food"!!! I am able to eat weight control oatmeal now and there is a lot of protein in there -- and I mix it with skim milk to get even more protein. I can only eat about 1/2 cup so the protein is about 6.5 grams....but better than nothing.
If you come up with any unique ways to get the protein in.....let me know!
I sleep about 12 to 14 hours a day. I can stay awake for about 10 hours and then I am exhausted. I am already takikng vitamins, so maybe that helps. I haven't weighed myself so I am not sure how much I am down -- I know that I lost 16 pounds on the liquid diet before the surgery -- I would guess that I am down another 10 or so based on how my clothes fit.
Thanks for your response, i feel o alone some times like i am never going to feel normal again. this morning I felt like I had indigestion, I took my protonix, which I have always done, but He tld me i wouldn't have to take it, but it helped, So now i am trying to take in my water, i feel really dry today...UGH...I am a bit frustrated today...Have a great day and thanks again...
