VERY NERVOUS Waiting on test results
Hello again all I just wanted to give a little update. I went back to my PCP yesterday and he went over the results of my CT scan he did last week he said I definetly have a small periumbillical hernia which I knew cause his nurse already shared that with me last week, but then I told him I've been having alot of pain on me left side just below my breast bone. He said thats your spleen and I wanted to talk to you about that, he said that the CT showed that my spleen was enlarged so he did an exam and said yes it felt like it is. So now he sent me for some blood tests he said he needs to rule out Lukemia and I have to have an ultra sound so the can measure the size of the spleen. So now I'm patiently but nervously waiting on those results to come back, he said he should have them back by next Wednesday. I told my wife lukemia ya right i'm to young to get something like that and I'm not really at risk for that but she said Jim you don't pick and choose the diseases you get the disease picks you. I was'nt gonna do the blood test and stuff cause I said it's a waste of time and money cause THERE NOT gonna find anything but I did it cause she reminded me that I have a 4 year old son to raise and that if something is wrong maybe it can be taken care of. So I went ahead and wasted the time and money and had them done, but I know the results so I don't know why i'm worried. Maybe i'm stupid or I just don't wanna face the possible reality. Oh well enough rambling on about my problems sure you all have your own to worry about.

I am so glad that you decided to have the bloodwork done. I will say a prayer that the test will show something simple or nothing at all. It could be as simple as an infection that has gone unchecked. I really get upset when doctors put ideas into people's heads. He should have never worried you by saying that it "could be" anything. It could be A LOT of things that don't approach the seriousness of leukemia. Please try to put this in God's hands. Please let us know as soon as you get the results of the bloodtest. Call and bother them until you get answers. I can usually get my labs within a half hour if I need to. (If they are computerized, you can practically have the results immediately.) Don;t feel like you are burdening others by sharing this...you aren't. Keep us posted and don't worry. Prayers are with you, brother. hugs, Karen
I just wanna say THANK YOU for all the kind words and thoughts and all the encouragement. No matter what the results show i'll beat it, I have to for my 4 year old son.. But i'm still sticking to my positive attitude NOTHING is wrong. I mean I know something has to be going on for the spleen to enlarge but I know it's nothing life threatening. Oh and by the way I forgot to share this with you all, the hospital called me friday morning and said the one luekosite test we do has to be sent out to a labaratory to be done and it has to be sent within 24hrs of being drawn, and we forgot to send yours within the 24 hr window so we need you to come back in Moday and be redrawn for that test. Real nice huh makes me feel real good about them handling my results. Oh well enough rambling thanks again to all you wonderful OH people.
