OT Weekend in Cleveland...any reccomendations on restaurants?
Hi!
My son, fiance and I will be in Cleveland on the 26th for a couple of days. We are visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for sure but I'd like some suggestions from anyone here on other places to visit. My son is almost 16 so I'd like it to be something we could all enjoy.
My fiance and I have both had gastric bypass. I am 2.5 years out, he's a 1.5 years out. We both tolerate most foods just in much smaller quantities. I am looking for some reccomendations on restaurants in the downtown Cleveland area or nearby. Although our tastes are eclectic, my son's arent but we dont want to do the chain restaurant thing either.
And if you can reccommend a cool little coffee house with great coffee I'd be much obilged.
I'm hoping you Ohioan's can help a Michigander out
Hyde Park is a favorite of mine. The House of Blues could be fun for everyone.
Just tell them how you want your meal done.
For coffee you must try "Coventry" It is reall cool and hip place to be. I think Arabica's is still there.

I am just starting my WLS process. I'm having it done at Cleveland Clinic also and saw you had yours done there. I travel 3.5 hours to get there. I've been going there for a year now for other medical problems. I just got my packet to fill out and have started it.
How did your surgery go? Were you happy with the facility and care? Any information you can give me to help me through this would be appreciated.
Sorry about getting off the thread, but somehow my Notify won't work, I'm pretty sure it's something in my computer.
PS I see you like fairies too.
Depends on how much money you want to spend for dinner and what type of food you like. We have "Little Italy" if you love Italian. We have Arabica's for coffee. The Warehouse District - W 6th for bar hopping. Lolly the Trolly is fun for a sight seeing tour around Cleveland. If the Cav's are in town that weekend, you could go to a basketball game. The Nautica still goes out on the river. It can be a fun cruise. It is an enclosed boat so you won't be freezing to death. We have one of the top ten zoo's in the country here, a great art museum, natural history museum and the Crawford Museum, which features old cars. We also have the tobaggan shute which runs pretty much all winter long. We do have a Hard Rock Cafe in our Tower City Center, which also has some shopping. One fun restaurant that I like is called Pier W. It is in Lakewood and it hangs over the lake. So, you can see the skyline of Cleveland at night. Coventry is a very interesting place to visit. Where in Cleveland will you be staying? I am a limo driver on the weekend, so if you have questions, I would be happy to help you out. Send me an email and I will be happy to send you my phone #. Welcome to Cleveland.

Thanks Linda for all the great info!
We will be staying at the Renaissance Marriott downtown. I think we will be checking out Coventry for sure. Everything else is sort of up for grabs. I found a couple of restaurants that looked pretty interesting. Besides House of Blues I also am looking at Pickwick and Frolic, The Cheesecake Factory, Lucky's, The Juniper Grill, and Momocho's.
Been to any of these? Good, Bad or Ugly?
The Cheesecake Factory is excellent! If you are there for the luncheon portions get those and you can still share! Everything you can think of they serve plus over fifty kinds of cheesecake! Great atmosphere too!
