Surgery date January 23rd 2007---- Any help please !!!

I am having a RNY on the 23rd and I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I currently weigh 316 and I read the peoples stories on here and I hope and pray I do as well as everyone on this site. Any friends in here would be greatly appreciated!!! I have a really good friend at work that is checking into getting the surgery also but it would really help to talk to others that already have had the surgery. I live in Toledo Ohio and going to Bowling Green at the Wood County Hospital for my surgery. Thanks, Kathy

Kathy, Congratulations on your surgery date and good luck. My wife and I had the surgery in April at Wright Patt Air Force Base in Dayton. Since then we have moved to Indianapolis. We just recently got involved in this message board and everyone is so nice and supportive. I had my surgery 11 days after my wife's. I've lost all my weight (140 pounds) and now trying to maintain. My wife has lost over 150 pounds. It was much easier doing together. You will get lots of support on these boards. Keep in touch and drop me a line anytime. Floyd

Kathy, Congrats on the surgery date. I just recently had my surgery (December 29) and I feel great so far. I have to be honest -- the first two days (surgery day and the day after) I was wondering what I did to myself. Once I got beyond that, I am doing great. You will be so happy that you had the surgery. Just make sure that you get up and walk around. It is important that you keep everything moving.
