Anyone with Brad Watkins as their surgeon?

I have been in contact with Cincy Weight Loss and just wondering if anyone here has had Brad Watkins as their surgeon in the past or upcoming? I had a date set....had car trouble, and then my fears got the best of me...so, here I go again on researching...I haven't rescheduled yet. It's approximately a 3.5 hr drive for me, so, that is a big concern of mine...what if I had some type of complication after I get home? (I realize no one can predict what may or may not occur, I'm just really worried as I am going to be a self-pay)....see what I mean???? Guess I am just wanting to talk to someone who has been there as well. THANKS!

Just a FYI-Dr. Watkins does NOT do the actual surgery...it is Dr. Brad Osborne. Dr. Watkins is from WA; He moved here to help start CWLC and is assisting the opening of the Cincinanti center.

As a self pay, please please do your homework and make sure you're COMPLETELY comfortable with the surgeon who'll do your banding. That really applies regardless of how it's being paid for, but it's a big investment for self payers! The surgeon is not only placing the band, but will be your caregiver for it for years to come. I would have checked out one of CWLS seminars, but started reading such great things about Dr. Curry, I had to check him out first. A week from tomorrow he'll be banding me.

Michelle, If you are self pay and willing to drive down to Cincinnati I'd check into Dr. Curry. There are so many people who have so many great things to say about him. I think it would be worth your while. Peggy

I'm so glad I found this thread. I am signed up for surgery with Dr. Osborne on 1/10/07 but I'm having major 2nd thoughts and thinking of switching to Dr. Curry. I can't get people at Dr. Osborne's office to return my calls (I need a simple letter for our Flex Comp, I'm a self-pay). To me it seems indicative of what I'll be experiencing after the surgery as well (treating someone who hasn't even had the surgery this way makes me wonder how I'll be handled after surgery). Dr. Curry's staff wrote me back immediately, and I searched the web for Dr. Curry, and he's all over the place!

I have never seen Dr. Watkiins. Have you ever thought about seeing Dr. Curry? He did my surgery and I can only say extremely positive things about him and his staff. Let me know if you want more info. Dawn
