Lapband Surgery after a CVA?
Hi, I am a 38 year old female who is new to the site. I have lots of questions but one in paticular. I already know my insurance will pay 80% of the lapband surgery if I decide to go ahead with it, which I am about 50% sure I will. I was having dizziness and headache about 8 months ago and decided to go to my PCP, she in turn sent me for an MRI and an old CVA was found. I never knew I had a stroke, no signs or symptoms or anythings, quite a shock to me. I have been seeing a neurologist to has run several test and has since put me on topamax for migraines but has said nothing more about the stroke. My question is how safe is it for me to have the lapband surgery done? I really want to have it done and get this weight off and start living again, but at what cost to my life? I would appreciate any imput anyone has.
Thanks, Lacylady ( Bobbi Jo)
Dr. Curry, Thank You for your quick response, needless to say it put a very big smile on my face! I have another visit in January with my Neurologist and if I can get the o.k. as well from her I will be heading towards taking the first steps towards becoming a lap band patient. I am so excited and it is just what I needed to hear to sweep me through the rest of the Holiday season. Thank you so very much!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope to lose tons of weight in 2007!
Thanks again!
