Filter placement was a success !

My IVC filter placement went great yesterday. Not too uncomfortable, but a very long day..... Not crazy about the retrieval process, by way of the artery in my neck, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Thanks for all the support on this page; you guys rock !!!

Hey! Yes, it prevents blood clots.... So I hope it works!! ha Monday is getting here quicker than expected!!! I'm scared, as most are about this time. Looking forward to a new life though; especially the "wow" moments. Hope to chat soon ! Deb ps... How r you doing? Getting ready for the holidays??

I'm doing/feeling great. However, I am a procrastinator. I haven't even bought any wrapping paper yet. When they are wheeling you back to the OR, don't focus on the upcoming surgery. Instead, picture your life 6 months from now. Really try to envision the changes that will come as you melt away! That helped me to relax on the big day. Hugs, Dar

Deb Good luck on your up and coming big day, the filter thing is kind of a bummer I had to have one before surgery to, and yes sorry to say but the worse part is getting it out through the neck, but you'll do fine they usally take it out 6 to 8 weeks after your surgery at leadt thats when they took mine out. OK -- I have to have the temporary filter put in a week before surgery, but NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE COMING OUT OF THE NECK PART!!! That sounds like fun! I guess I just have to think of the big -- or smaller -- picture. Hope everyone is getting ready for Santa!
