Help!!! I'm gaining weight! Anyone else have this problem?
Teresa, as long as you feel some restriction form your surgery, why not get back to the healthy eating habits you learned post-op? protein first, get in your liquids, not with meals though, and stay active. No need to be an exercise junkie, just keep your body moving. With winter coming on SOON, that might be a challenge, but we're like other folks now, gotta follow the rules. Doug
I am having the same problem, I have gained almost 20 lbs. I got on the scale and it said 230 and I jumped off of it.. I know that my major problem is that I am not eating enough to keep my metabolism going. funny how not eating is doing that to me.. I had a problem from eating too much and now I am told to eat 6 meals a day and I am lucky to eat 2. I do get my water in and I am trying to get back on my exercise routine.. Hopefully things will level out soon.. Good Luck and take care.
HI Teresa---are you attending the support group meetings? I'm almost 2 years out and still attend most of the monthly meetings---I haven't started gaining YET,,,,but I know when I go to the meetings at Holzer I come home with a better attitude and renewed convictions to eat better and exercise. I'll be there Monday night--come if you can--I love to meet you and get to know you. I think the topic this month is addictions and how to deal with them.
Best wished...........Wanda
Here's some info I recieved at the Columbus event- Don't eat anything crunchy if your trying to break a plateau- If you can place what your eating in a jar of water and shake it up and the pieces disolve or break apart, that's what happens in your stomache. So, if you eat proteins, they stay with you longer and make you feel full, plus boost your metabolism to start burning calories again. But you have to get your water in too; never forget about the water. Hope this helps!
