GONE BAD

I am 3 yrs post op and gaining my weight back. In the last year I have been diagnosed with RA. Took months to find that out. It cut out my exercise, and practically totally disabled me till I got the diagnose and treatment. Since then I have lost interest in keeping fit and my sit down job is loaded with too many goodies around. I need a swift kick in the butt, if you know what I mean. Can anyone help me? Or am I totally off my rocker?

Connie, Glad you got treatment for your RA, and hope you can get around better now. What was your motivation for having WLS in the first place? If you can't focus on that, maybe you can find a new motivation, something important to YOU, to help keep you active. We don't have to be excercise junkies, but staying active is part of being successful. As far as the goodies go, that is a temptation for a lot of us, and it won't go away, it's about sticking to the eating habits we learned post-op. I'm sure you've heard it before, the SURGERY IS JUST A TOOL, it's up to you on how to use it. But if you really feel that down and out, maybe you should see your PCP and get screened for depression. Another thing that might help is to connect w/others locally. I like going to support group mtgs, and we trade the occasional emails too. The basics I listed still work here, and I promise not to kick you too hard LOL Doug 382/186/180
