hey guys, I am 5 days post op! I am doing great!! No compleciation, no real pain just some gas! ugh... I told Kimberley (my oH angel) I dont even think he did the surgery... maybe he justt poked a few holes in me. Thats how good I feel... thank the Lord above! anyway, here is my question. I have noooo problem getting all the protein in what so ever and all my liquids go down fine too. My first day on full liquids I got 80 grams in!! I read about people that really struggle to get it in. Although, I know this is a GREAT thing I cant help but to feel worried that I will be able to eat to much when I get to that stage. I think maybe he made m y pouch to big. I feel like I am the ONLY one that can get all the protein in the week after surgery. Anyway, anyone out there like me? Maris

Maris, I am so happy for you that things are going so smoothly for you. You are blessed that you are getting your protein in and that means the weight is going to come off quickly and you will have energy to thrive on. Please dont worry about your pouch size. Trust me things change on a daily basis, as you heal you might begin to notice that fullness sooner. Right now you are a little numb still from the nerves being cut and the pain meds. Just pace yourself and stick to the amt the Dr has prescribed for you to eat. If you are within those guidelines and doing well, Just thank the Good Lord above. I am so thankfull that things are going so well for you. Please send some prayers my way that I can get back on track and lose this weight. RNY May 5 2005 310/143/147/120 Lots of prayers and hugs coming your way Laura

Hi Maris, I am so happy for you that things are going smoothly. Don't worry about your pouch being too big, he did it "just right!". Keep up the great work with protein, and dont forget, every day may bring changes to you and some days getting the protein in easier than others. I am "jealous" of you actually and am one of those people that have tons of trouble getting protein or much else in for that matter. However I have/had lots of complications since the surgery so it is hard to go by me. Just wanted to let you know that I am proud of you and keep up the good work. Also, dont forget to take it easy, even though you feel good you still want to slow down a bit. Warmly, Michelle

Maris you sound like me. I did great and had no problem eating or drinking. I had little to no pain. I think we all hear and remenber the horror stories and don't remenber the ones like us who do good. I also worried that my pouch was to big. It isn't. I've lost 55 lbs since surgery and I'm almost 10 weeks out. So it is working. Enjoy it and the journey. Dianna

Thak you all so much... I appreciate some feed back and it is good to know that I am not alone. I will continue to do what I am doing and be grateful for pulling through with no complications. maris

I think you are doing great! I think things will change daily as you heal and what you might be able to tolerate one day....won't work the next day. This weight loss journey is certainly a strange trip. Keep up the good work Sandy
