Abdominal Pain 2 1/2 yrs post op RNY
Hello,
Has anyone experienced admonial pain 2 1/2 yrs RNY post op? The docs have ct scanned me and found nothing. I am going for a EDG tomorrow. Last year I was in pain and they found out I had scar tissue on my incision line. That took the pain away when they removed it. Now I am having the same kind of pain and they say it shouldn't be scare tissue. I am wondering if I have an ulcer, adhesions, scar tissue? Can someone please tell me what an ulcer feels like if you had one or you have had my experience? Do ulcers go away with treatment? Or is it something you would always have to contend with?
Please email me at [email protected]
Dr. Curry what do you think and suggest?
Thanks Much,
Gayenell
Hi Dr.C
I had my EGD done today! The doc said everything looked the way it should no ulcers or anything of the such! I had a ct scan doen that came back normal. Upper GI as well. I had my gallbladder removed 2 yrs ago. The thing I am thinking at this point is what I had last year ( Scar tissure removed from my incision line.) I am at a loss for what is going on with me as I do not want to live with pain for the rest of my life. It seems to worsen when I am stressed or upset. Scar Tissue you think? I think going in looking around is what should be next to see if I have adhesions or scar tissue. From what I heard those two can be painful as well. I just thank god that nothing is wrong with my plumming Please let me know what you think of it all.
Thanks for your help!

All abdominal pain is not limited to WLS....I am 3 years out and this is the SECOND time I have been doubled over in pain....right lower abs.....mine is normally FEMALE PROBLEMS....so visit your GYN....the burdens of being a woman are not nice ....My doc called and have my test results....(ultrasounds) so I go in on Tuesday to see what it is this time....~sigh~
Living with pain is so not fun! I stay medicated~~ and this pain wakes me up out of my sleep....he told me if I develop fever, nausea, or vomitting over the weekend...go directly to the ER.....I think he may think or the test shows I am developing appendicitis.
I hope you feel better!
