Another Question For Dr. C

Hi Dr. Curry, Is it possible to do damage to my pouch with alcohol? I had a few drinks last night (I stopped drinking about 10 hours ago) and ever since I have experienced nausea and vomiting. I think I have drank 2 to 3 times prior to last night (while post-op) and I have never felt this bad. Should I just give this more time to wear off and avoid the booze or is there anything I can do to make myself feel better? Sorry to be a wimp, lol.

Julie, You can get gastritis in your pouch from alcohol, you can also dump from it. You can try some OTC prilosec but it'll take a few days. C
