Surgery set for November 6th

This is my first visit to this site. My surgery date has been set. Would love to hear from some of you that have had the Lap BAnd already. Things like how severe is the pain afterwards. How often did you throw up the first few weeks. And most of all how much weight loss in the first couple of weeks. Think there is still more items I need to set up in my profile which I will do this evening. I was just so anxious to get on her and talk to someone who has had the surgery.

Vickie, Congratulations on getting a date for your surgery. I was banded October 11th. I can honestly say that I had little to no pain. I also haven't had any pb episodes (vomiting). I've lost 17 pounds since my surgery. That is not necessarily the norm. I've been very fortunate in my journey. Some people have lots of pain and have to take pain meds. Some people are nauseated. It all depends. I think if you go in with a positive attitude and do exactly what your doctor tells you, it'll work out for you. By the way, your might want to check out the lap band forum on this site. There are always questions on there just like you've asked and you'll get lots of different answers.
