update on yesterdays post about insurance papers getting faxed

Well sad to say I called my insurance company this am and guess what ...... They never got the fax from my surgeon Friday requesting surgery approval. Now I am mad. I told the coordinator to call the insurance co to make sure they get the fax. But she didn't. I called her today and left her message to refax them and never heard back from her. Any thoughts on what I should do next. The Sugeon charges $2000 service charge for this great service. I call the coordinator and she tells me how busy she is.... Or she never calls me back I always have to call her. Any thoughts??

Remember the old addage!? If you want something done right, do it yourself. Faxes get lost alot.....really...even if they did get a fax in the department you sent it to, it has to be sent to imaging and shuffled around....what a mess. if you could get ahold of a copy of what the surgeon is sending.... send it to the insurance yourself. Call your ins cust serv until you get someone compitent, trust me, there are some. find out what department makes the decisions and get thier number..... just don't give up or be mean to the customer service reps. Call them every day if you have to. There is hope! trust me! lol.. I thought my head was going to explode while awaiting approval!

Sorry to hear about your trouble with the fax, hope you hear from insurance soon. Mine was sent to insurance last Monday, i will wait another week and call them, I have heard Great West takes quite a while. Take Care Jeanette

Mine was faxed in last week too that is so awesome! I hope you hear back quickly I was told 2- 6 weeks. To find out. -Nicole
