Has anyone had experience with Med Mutual of Ohio Insurance recently???

I just got insurance and they listed weight loss surgery in their exclusions. I do not know what to do next. My last insurnace had an exclusion and the bariatric center wouldn't go any further than finding that out. I need this and want this so badly and I am 53 so I need help soon!!!

My fiance has Med Mutual of Ohio and they have an exclusion for weight loss surgery. I believe it is something that the employer added probably to help bring down costs. I would call your insurance company and ask them if it is covered. You can also post this on the Insurance board. Not sure if there is a way around it. I have been trying to get mine appoved for two years, but I have a different insurance co. that does cover the surgery. ((Hugs))

They paid for my surgery. I think it depends on your group. My husband is with the cement masons group. The union... I had a hard time with them. But as soon as I meetall their criterias they approved me right away. The only thing I was missing was the 6th month diet. They do want you to meet all criterias. Best wishes Barb

I have medical mutal through OPERS and they paid for mine. It may be that the employer added the exclusion. Check with Medical Mutal. Dianna

But, listed under "life time benefit" it shows a maximum life time benefit of $10, 000
