I went up to Cleveland Clinic yesterday and thought I was about to get my surgery date. I have finished all the things I needed too. But then they told me I needed to make an appointment AGAIN with the surgeon. So Now I have to wait till sept 20th to see him. They could have let me make an appointment with him the last time I was up there so I wouldnt have had such a long wait to see him again. So..now I have to wait 3 weeks to see him..and then finally get my date. I just saw the IMPACT TEAM yesterday and was cleared for surgery. So Im happy about that. Just wish they would have made things more clear. *sigh* Wont be having surgery as soon as I thought..so now just gotta hang in there. Thanks for letting me vent. Was just ready for my date. Sorry to hear that Shannon. Take a deep breath. I know it doesn't help, but to quote your president, "stay the course." :rolf: sorry, I crack myself up! Sharyn

Shannon, I know exactly what you are saying......You will get through this. I was called the last minute because someone cancelled. Then poof.....it's all over. Get ready just incase you get the call as I did. Then you can say yes..... I'll take it. I'ts not to say this will happen. But if a spot opens they would rather fill it. I'll be praying for you.

I feel for you I went through the same thing.. I started with Kaiser's program went through all the classes lost weight and everything. Then because they said I was "high risk" they sent me to the Cleveland Clinic. I had to do everything all over again! all test all bloodwork, behav. health, nut, you name it I had to do it again. It took 15 months from my first visit with the Kaiser Nut. to my surgery date at the Clinic. But dont worry time will fly and before you know it boom! Just use this time to do research and get yourself ready. BTW when you do get to set a date it may be close to a month before your surgery so be forewarned.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I know that my time will come. I guess I just want that date so I KNOW when it will belol. And true..Im on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their appointment with the surgeon. Also..Im still preparing and learning as much as I can everyday so that I can be as prepared as possible. And also..it is true that the surgery date may be 1 month from when I see the surgeon. Its just that after all the testing and appointments with everyone..Im ready for my date! LOL Thanks so much for the supprt..it really helps You all are wonderful! Shannon

Shannon, I know this is going to sound crazy, but the extra time is a GREAT idea. I live about 30 minutes from you and am having my surgery done at St Joes. The entire process from start to finish and surgery date took about 2 months for me. 4 weeks of that was just waiting for the date after my approval. It has been SOOOO fast that I am just this side of a nervous wreck. Half the time I feel like I am just not ready. Most of the time I feel overwhelmed.
