NE OHIO

Hello, I am new to the board and OH. Anyone else live in the NE OHIO area? I am close to Akron. My surgeon will be Dr W Chylsta at akron general hospital. I am still trying to get approval from my insurance i shoud know in 2 weeks. Anyone else have dealings with Great West Insurance? Hope to hear from you and your experiences.

Hi Michelle Congrats on your scheduled surgery with Dr. Ben-Meir. He is my Dr as well. He is very kind and patient and will take the time to explain whatever you need. The nurses at St. V's are great too. Especially MaryBeth. Take care, hugs Barbara G.

hey there M S i am in wadsworth i am almost 7 weeks out and i would do it all over again i went to DR Z at city hospital ... every day right now is a learning process what i can or cannot eat but all in alll i tolerate almost anything .. i know we have a support group at summa meets once a month the last wed i believe i will go to my first meeting this month and i do believe Akron General has a support group too i have no clue when they meet tho ... best of luck to you !!!! Hi! I live in Richfield and am 3 1/2 weeks post-op. I had my surgery at Akron General with Dr. Zografakis (Dr Z). My insurance was Summacare, and I think it helped going to a Summa hospital. The insurance company even called me to follow up, and said they will call me every month. Insurance covered everything, except the $2000 program fee. What a complete program! I had a couple delays due to insurance and a doctor switch, so it was over 8 months til I got my surgery. So far... so good. Anyone wanna meet on the Towpath for some hiking?
