Good Morning! I go to my PCP this morning and since his scale Always makes me heavier than mine, I figured I better weigh myself so I'm not too disappointed. whoa! Big, giant, huge, enormous mistake! I am exactly the same weight I was Sunday. What am I doing wrong????? ok, now I am officially discouraged. The only day I missed walking was yesterday because of the pain on my left side.... I just don't understand it. I'm not cheating. How in the world can you cheat on 2 to 4 ounces of food?????!! I then got dressed and weighed myself again and my clothes and shoes added 4 pounds. So we'll see what the Doc's scales say. I am really trying hard to keep my chin up and to come up with as many reasons for this as possible... Please, please... does anyone have any input to help me???? Barbara

Don't forget you are just a little past surgery. Your body is adjusting. It could still be weight from the surgery. Hang in there. Your right with 2 to 4 oz of food you can't be doing anything wrong. Give your body a week and I bet it will float off. Dianna

Hi Barbara, if I may make one big suggestion.. GET RID OF YOUR SCALES I use to way myself about 5 times a day, if it didn't change I would be so depressed. ..I finally slipped them way up under the bed so I wouldn'****ch them..it made it so much easier because every time I went to the doc I weighed less...don't get stressed...the weight will come off.. Barb, This is very normal. Your still losing inches. Your body needs to caught up. Stay off the scales. The pain on the left side I always had that. Mine was from the surgery. and went away. Hugs Barb

Barb: Your body is adjusting. I would find I would even gain a pound or two then the next day be off 5-6 pounds. I heard your body is getting used to everything and the fluids make a huge difference. You are so soon still that your body still has to WAKE UP from surgery and get everything moving again. I weigh myself about 3x per week. I read today in a WebMD magazine that you should weigh yourself everyday instead of once a week in order to "catch that 5# gain before it gets out of hand. At this time you don'thave to worry about that. I am just 4 months out and hi 80# lost, believe me it will come! I think 2-3 times per week is a good middle ground without becoming obessessive. If you were anything like me when I was so heavy I hated to weigh myself so the only time I did was at the Dr office and even then I wouldn't lwt them tell me. Talk about denial! If I learned anything it is important to face the scale and get control early.

I think your body is retaining water. It is a natural response. One day you will get up and find 4-6 pounds gone overnight. Remember protein first and then limit carbohydrates as water is stored with the carbohydrates in the body. Make sure you are chewing your food. Since you are taking in so little this is so important. The enzymes in saliva trigger the digestion response. Lack of digestion will make the brain think it hasn't eaten. It will then try to hold onto your weight. Drink, drink and drink. This will help with the breakdown of fats and proteins. And watch yourself....or have someone in your family monitor you for unconscious nibbling. It is such a habit sometimes we do not know that we do it. Hang in there! It will happen for you soon Sandy
