I'm sorry

First off,I'm sorry I haven't responded to posts as I should have. Secondly, I did mention that the bottom might drop out and it sorta did. Starting Tuesday I began to have new pain. On my left side behind the third (from the bottom) rib. oooohhh man does it ever hurt. I tried to doctor it myself until yesterday and then I figured I better call the Doc. anyway.... I haven't really been on and today I found the mail from the nicest posters in Ohio and I'm sorry. only soft hugs, Barbara G. thanks everyone who answered my questions and for being supportive... .

Barbara, I just recently bought Susan Leach's book "Before and After". It is her experience having WLS. In there, there is a Q&A section and one of the questions was about the pain on the left side. She said when they do laproscopic surgery it is that side of the body that contains the equipment they use to perform most of the work. Now I know everyone is different but that may be why the left side hurts so much. Like you said you had better call you Doctor just in case. Congratulations on your weight loss, keep it up. That's very true Peggy, the left side is where the circular stapler is pushed in..if you could see them do that..ouchkers!!.. somewhere on the front home page of OH is a tape of an actual surgery, this was courtesy of Synovis surgical and was performed at Tufts New England, I believe..at least one of the surgeons was from there...it will show an actual surgery. One day I would like to put a meeting together and have a surgeon come in to explain the procedure with a tape..wouldn't that be awesome?? When Dr. Sonnanstine in N. Kentucky was training me as an advocate I would go into the OR with him...I know he has a taped procedure because I was there..I pushed the on and off button on the tape..maybe he will be nice enough to show it to an open class one day. Dear Barb, I think many of us go through those first few days and just assume that the rest of the trip is going to be just as uneventful. My deep depression began at about 2 weeks out so be on guard for that unexpected visitor. Show him the door, LOL We are all here to support you and I pray for you several times a day.. I ask God to keep his loving arms around you and your family and bring you through these rough days. Because better days are ahead for all of you.. Just know I am here.. I have some incredible news.. I have rediscovered an awfully sweet young man who I was very much in Love with a few years back and we are going to start seeing one another again.
