Long journey
I began researching wls over a year ago. If I had known then what I know now about insurance and their hoops, I would have started this then. I am now in my 4th month of medically supervised diet. My ins requires 6 months. I thought it wouldn't be so bad. My boys keep me busy with softball and football. But it still seems to be taking forever. I am such a worrywart that I am afraid that even after all the hoops my ins will still say NO. I have lost 8 pounds since March, and my pcp says are you sure you still want to have wls? Like 8 pounds is a really big deal. YEAH I am sure of this.
I just needed to let this out. It is kinda depressing having to wait like this. Thanks for listening and have a great day!

Tracy, once you get through your six months, the time flies....last I knew I was sending in my application and then boom...I had a surgery date and then it was the day of surgery and now here I sit a week out of surgery....my process started in February, except I did not have to have the 6 mo supervised diet....so far, it is worth the wait....

I know how you feel. I started this journey in 04 and started by getting all my testing done (sleep study, pap, etc) before I called the surgeon..then it took me months to get in to see him so I had already lost a year. Then I had so many denials with insurance I lost another year.. I thought I would never make it but I have gotten approval and a date.. Hopefully you will have luck and after you get your 2 more months done you will get a date right away.. I know how you feel..I AM SURE I WANT THIS!
