Financing and questions about Dr Fallang

I have found out that my insurance is definitely not going to cover my WLS due to my husbands employer writing an exclusion in the policy. I have decided to go ahead and self pay but was wondering if anyone knew of a special financing company to borrow the money from for the surgery? Also, I went to Dr Fallang's informational session last month in Dayton. I was wondering if anyone has used him or had any thoughts on his practice. Any information you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Tracy, Most practices have some sort of financing available for self pay patients. Check with Dr. Fallang's office. Dr. C

Thanks Dr. C I am considering coming to you for a consultation, i have heard wonderful things about you. I went to Dr Fallang because my pcp had several patients that used him with success so she gave me his name. I am also having a hard time choosing a doctor because my sister and my mom are also having the surgery (my sister RNY and my mom the lapband) and they have designated me as the person to find the surgeon. As i understand it you do both procedures, is that correct? My mom and sister both have insurance coverage i am the only unlucky one. Thanks for your response Tracy Maimone

Hi there! I had my WLS over 2 years ago with Dr. Fallang and was a self-pay patient. We ended up taking a 2nd mortgage on our house. Dr. Fallang and his staff are superb and would be happy to help you in anyway possible. I would recommend them to anyone! Good luck!!

I took a loan against my 401K, very easy to do and I am paying myself back with interest.

HI I had Dr. Fallang as my surgeon in April and I loved him.All the nurses were wonderful and could'nt say a bad thing about the place. I was also self pay. Luckily, I had a hernia and my insurance paid for that and all I had to pay was $8000. 00. If you would like to call me personally, email me and I'll give you my number. Hi Tracy, I had my surgery with Dr. Fallang on 5/01/06, & I am already down 63 pounds & doing great! They treat you so wonderful at Riverview, I felt like I was a VIP. It was amazing.
