Need Info on Dr Wesley Alexander
My cousin has been advised to have WLS and his physician told him to see Dr Alexander. My cousin called me and asked me if I knew of him. I seem to remember other OH members saying that they had him as a surgeon and I was wondering if you could give me some information about him to relay to my cousin. I seem to remember only positive things being written about Dr A and want to confirm for my cousin. Thanks in advance for your help!
I had my RNY done by Dr. Alexander.... he is WONDERFUL, and I highly recommend him. My family physician had originally recommended him to me because, at the time, he already had about 9 patients who had their surgeries performed by Dr. Alexander.... all of which had done extremely well and with no complications. Dr. A. really knows his stuff and is very conscientious. You can tell that he genuinely cares about his patients.
I have done very well. I've had no complications and have lost a total of 160 lbs. (21 lbs. just prior to my surgery). People tell me that I look like the "model" of health!
If you have any further and/or more specific questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email. Believe me, I have the utmost confidence in this man!!!
Sincerely,
Karen

Cathy,
My wife and myself both had surgery by Dr. A. He is a top notch surgeon who is very caring and down to earth. He gets right to the point and does not sugar coat anything.
My wife is 2 1/2 years out and has lost 80lbs and I am 18 months out and have lost 235lbs. My wife was not very big for the surgery and I on the other hand was 431lbs.
Enough about us I just wanted to say he is an awesome Doctor who I would reccomend to anyone.
Feel free to have your cousin e-mail me with any questions they may have.

Cathy,
I find that is very true. When I go to the Support Group Meetings that Dr. Alexander offers I find that men find it easier asking men questions. BTW Dr. A has a support group that meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Terri lead the group and she is great. Very personable and you can ask her anything! She really makes you feel welcome and is very knwoledgble. I still go to the support meeting to help others as I felt this surgery was more mental then physical. Have him come to the meetings at Christ Hospital downstairs by the cafeteria. If you wants to e-mail me let me know..

Hi Dave,
I've only been to one of Dr. A's support group meetings, and would love to get back for some more... I don't remember what time they start, however. If I remember correctly, they are somewhat early evening as I had to take off work early to get there in time (I live in Hillsboro and need to allow 1.5 hours to get there).
Please let me know. I wouldn't be able to make them extremely often, but would love to go to one every once in awhile.
Thanks bunches,
Karen

Karen,
They are at 6pm on the first and third Tuesday. It really is a great place to come and discuss any questions/suggestions you may have. I find that the groups I have attended after the one I was required to attend have been more helpful then my first. I hope you can make it down to attend.
