Hi Dr. C! My question today is, when is 1's body and incision area safe from hernia's? Are they forever a weak spot? Reason I'm asking is, I have a knot that's developed about 2" down from the top of my incision from my spleenectomy. I am seeing my PCP next week regarding it. It's aches and has a numbness around the area. 20+ months out and now this, mind you I'm not complaining, this could get my TT! Other than this I'm doing fantastic, down a few more lbs since I seen you last, but been holding this weight for a few months now. Thank you, Vickie

Vickie, Unfortunately, you're never "safe" from a hernia - it's always kind of a weak spot. If I can help just let me know. C
