DR Calvin Selwyn
I got the same letter as well...He will be missed. Dr Selwyn if y ou read this don't be a stranger to this board. Thank You a hundred times over for the tool that you gave me. The area that you are moving to is very lucky to have you. I am sure that you will change the lives of hundreds if not thousands more people. Have a safe move and God Bless...Sherri
I was told by a reliable source that Dr. Selwyn went to Wisconsin..UC will be hiring a new surgeon (this could take a little time as they want to replace one good surgeon with another)..Dr. Fischer, UC and Dr. Alexander at Christ, will continue doing cases.
I was at a support meeting Tues. at Christ, a few of Dr. Selwyns' patients were there..everyone is very sad to see him go, but remember these surgeons are very much in demand..they are offered top jobs and often I would imagine it is hard to say no..
I am not sure but I believe he is from that area so maybe he got an offer near his family and home.

So who is this reliable source??
I haven't really made a final decision about where I am going and I wanted to let everyone know that it isn't for money. Those that know me, know that's true. I am sad to be leaving as well. My only regret is leaving patients. I have really enjoyed Cincinnati and I feel the time here has made me a better surgeon and hopefully a better person. I enjoy what I do and it was never for ego, money or position. I have decided to leave for many personal reasons which I have shared with many of my patients but couldn't of course contact everyone to discuss it with them. I have tried to ensure that everyone is definitely taken care of and will post my new address when I have made that decision. Actually I'm from North Carolina where Dr. Gersin went but I'm not going there. I have to way my options and will choose a direction to go rather than a specific job opportunity. I will continue to practice in the same capacity and continue to perform all the surgeries that I currently perform (even robotics). I appreciate all the kind words from everyone. I still consider my self a glorified plumber that puts people back together physically and God heals them. I would like to hear from everyone once in a while and I will be looking in on the Web site every few weeks. Dr. Curry has been kind enough to follow the Band patients because as of now there isn't anyone at the University that performs this surgery. Take care and I will be in contact.
Thanks to everyone.
Sincerely,
Dr. Selwyn
Hey Dr. Selwyn, the reliable source was from two places actually your office and a rep..guess they talked to each other and still didn't get the story straight..glad you clarified that for us..
I wish you well, you will definately be missed here in the Cincy area as you are very popular amoung the bariatric community..
take care of yourself and please do stay in touch!!

Dr. Selwyn-
I am so sad to see you go, my surgery is scheduled for August 16 and you were suppose to do it. Now I am scheduled with Dr.Fischer, who I am sure is a great doctor, but would have rather completed this process with you. Since I did let you do my EGD without putting me under!!!
Best of luck to you and your family
