Full Liquids- Creamed soups

I am post op by 2 weeks and am on the full liquid diet. Strained creamed soups are included in the full liquids. Does anyone know if Tomato soup would be considered a cream soup. I was going to eat some, but was afraid of the acidic content of it. But I also thought of adding skim milk to it and maybe that would make it less acidic and more creamy. Since I'm confused about this, I can hardly wait to start the Pureed diet...LOL! :-)

When I was on the Full Liquid it was NO tomato soup, and I was really bumbed, I love it....I did however eat a lot of green pea soup.....Good luck....Pam

Susan When they prosses tomato soup the sugar is real high in it I it might not be A good thing for the pouch best of luck to you Michael

Susan, Not sure on tomato soup - it was never one of my favs, but potato soup and cream of brocolli soup (very well strained). One other things my nutritionist told me was to add a slice of Velveeta to each soup and melt it. This increases the protein level alot. Good luck ~Kelly

Hey Susan no one told me i couldnt have it and tomato was the only one that wasnt too salty for me i liked progresso hearty tomato and i strained it ... the healthy request campbells was ok too but it warned you if you mixed with skim milk it curdels a lil i strained it too it was ok if your in doubt call Robin the dietician she will let you know if its ok ... i had a hard time with all the other cream soups wayyyyyyy tooo much salt i wish i would have been adventureous and made my own potato soup Take care Missy

check the sugar on Tomato soup.. it can have alot and you do not want or need that... i did well with bean soup purreed. Check you lables and try several ... good luck to you......diane
