I found out late Friday (too late to call and talk to my insurance) that they are considering the Barix out of network! I work for Ohio Health in Columbus (Grant/Riverside) in an outpatient center. I went on their intranet web page-from there linked to my insurance web page and verified that he was in network! I have the pages I printed... now they say I should have checked somewhere else?? I talked to coutless people at my insurance and at the barix... my preop stuff took 6 months.... could no one have said something?? I am now 3 months post op and they decide I have to pay 12,000 of it! I can't do that... I' m not sure what I will do Are there lawyers to handle this kind of thing? Any ideas? It is killing me to have to wait until Monday to call anyone. pam

Pam, doesn't that just burn your butt?!! And we always seem to find this stuff out late on Friday...I'm not a patient person, so the wait would kill me! Do you still have your approval letter from them? That has to mean something. Also, if you need it, try these attorneys. I've heard good things about them. Good luck! http://www.obesitylawyers.com/

Hi Pam. I agree with Kimmy. It should have been stated on your approval letter. Good luck!!

I kept in a note book every corespondence and names of everyonre i talked to along with my tests results. I also had the pages from the web page showing the Barix as in network. I went to the website this am... they are still listed as in network... i printed them and along with the original set, faxed it to Benifits.....they called me and said the had contacted the insurance co and would get back to me..... I'm not sure what that means. I don't see how they can not pay it. I havre the pages that say OHIOHEALTH~ IN NETWORK, for both the Barix and Dr VIg..... so I still wait. thanks for asking, I'll post again when I hear something.... hopefully tomorrow (am I being optimistic? ) Pam

Pam. Good luck. You should be able to fight the insurance on this. I had the same thing happen to me, and I already had the approval letter from my insurance, and they had to honor it. Hang in there... Lois Warnock

I cannot imagine them not having to honor their letter, it's called insurance fraud! Mel

Wel I found out late Friday (one week later) (after I called and left a message that I did not want to go another weekend not knowing what was going on) that my claim was resubmitted. I hope that was for the Barix bill, Dr Vig AND the anesthesiologist! All were paid out of network. .... Of course I can't double chec****il Monday...... So I am hoping all goes well since I faxed them the papers from their website saying it WAS covered! Peace~ pam
