Lap Band Surgery at Barix Clinics -Groveport, OH??????

Has anyone had Lap Band surgery at Barix Clinics with Dr. Viglianco? Can you tell me about your experience and how you are doing now? (Any information will be very helpful.) What about your experience getting insurance approval, the surgery itself and post op care and fills? I went today for a consult but forgot to ask the cost. Does anyone know Thanks.

I had surgery Feb 13 at Barix, but my surgeon was Dr. Barbara, who has since left Barix. They decided to downsize, and left him go, leaving dr. v and dr. stelmack. Soon afterward, dr. stelmack also left, leaving dr. v to take care of everything!! Don't get me wrong, dr. v is great, very personable, and i would have been fine with him for my surgery, given the choice. I love him, and Barix gave me GREAT care!! The nurses were super, and the pre op nurse was SO kind, and really helped calm my nerves. I only hope they find a replacement for dr. stelmack soon, as it is currently difficult to rescedule fills should a conflict in your schedule come up. Barix is a leader in WLS, although they have only been doing the lapband since the beginning of 06. I felt like everything was done top notch there. I was self pay, so I can't comment on how they are at getting ins. approval, but my self pay rate was 13,950. Best of luck!! BTW--I'm down almost 90 lbs. (89.5) since the morning of my surgery I have the VG 11 band, and i'm at 7cc with GREAT restriction.--Dr. V doesn't hesitate to give a fill if you think you need one.

I am considering Barix due to its reputation and the convenience of staying in Columbus vs. going to Cincinnati (due to family concerns). I hope my journey will be as successful as yours!
