LOOKING FOR SURGEON TO DO ON 15 YEAR OLD FAMILY DR. APPROVES.

I have a 15 year old son who is very over weight and already has some health issues because of it.His family Dr. Will do anything to help him have it.I have had the surgery and his father is having the surgery aug.2 it is something in the jeans.Anyways if any one knows or can help please do we would gladly appreciate it before something happens to our son that we would do anything for to help.

I went to a seminar yesterday that Dr. Watkins gave. He said they they are doing study surgeries on children. I believe he said the youngest he had done was 14. He is based in Washington state but is in Cincinnati for the time being setting up a new center. The Washington center has done over 1400 lap band proceedures and since May, 14 or so here in Cincinnati. There's very few so far because of insurance approval...the center here is still out of network for most insurances. The website for Dr. Watkins is www.cincyweightloss.com I hope this helps.

Hi George, Dr. Inge is here at Cincinnati Childrens hospital and has done WLS on children, my understanding is he is incredible and has the respect of local bariatric surgeons. Most Bariatric docs would prefer it if the patients are over 18...if you look to the left of this page, click on bariatric surgeons.you will find his name and a little about him with a phone number. I hadn't heard about that Sharyn...would that be through their center? my understanding UC isn't going to do bariatrics any longer...but my information may be way off.. Brenda

ya know..I have no idea what happened to Dr. Selwyn, I just heard from a reliable source he quit but didn't hear where he went..I was so busy with my daughters wedding I didn't think much more about it..If I find out I will let you know! All that I have heard about for children is Dr. Inge. I have tried to contact him about speaking on childhool obesity but never could get through to him..As I said other surgeons tell me he is the man to see for juvenile WLS and childrens is a top notch facility ...that's where I would go if I had a child who needed help with Obesity issues.
