I'm Back and have a date for surgery !

Hello Everyone! In case you don't remember, my name is Barbara and I am a Pre-surgical lap patient of Dr. Aviv Ben-Meir. Well, it has certainly has been a long time since I posted here. The first of the year my insurance required that I go on a six month doctor supervised diet. I was sorta down about that. All pumped to get into surgery. ha ha But Ann D. [such a nice lady] really encouraged me and so off I went on a little six month by-lane. And here we are... six months down the road... about 22 pounds lighter and WE ARE APPROVED FOR SURGERY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH! YIPPEE-EEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!! Do I sound just a tiny bit HAPPY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 btw.... LaTonya just called and I am to have a pre-surgical consult via phone with Dr. Ben-Meir tomorrow at 10 am . [for those just joining the show, I live about 2 hours from the hospital and when I went in last week for my pre-surgical testing day... he was busy]. I could tell you lots about the ups-and downs of the last six months but.... you would be bored silly. SO! My surgery date is August 2, 2006 at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio and I just can't hardly really truly believe that this is all happening, finally! I do get a little... uuummm.... cold feet in the middle of the night stuff. Could be that 'cold feet before you get married'... before your first child..... before you get thin and healthy!!!! Sheww! I signed a waiver that I would go to surgery on 24 hour notice... I don't know how that works... if once you are approved for a certain day thru your insurance if they will let you go early, but... it was worth a try. It is good to be back. August 2nd. Barbra, I am so happy for you. I had my surgery Sept21 last year. (What a year brings) I today I am 150 pounds down from 272. I know the 6 month diet was terrible. I went on it to. and never knew I had to be on it and wasted 3 months. But once that diet was finished. My insurance compnay approved me real fast. The 6 months really want by fast)I didnt lose any. You are already down 22 pounds. So your going to be a fast loser. and will sopn have all your health back. I am so happy for you Hugs barb

Barbara Congratulations on your surgery date you picked one fine outstanding hospital to have your surgery. I had mine there on May 31 by Dr. Schreiber he is the head of the Bariatric program. I did see Dr. Ben-Meir on my 3rd day in the hospital he was covering for Dr. Schreiber, I really liked Dr. Ben-Meir to he is a real nice guy and seems to be understanding to your needs.
