We are headed down to Florida and will be staying at the beach, however we wanted to run the kids over one or two days to Disney, does anyone know the best place to get the best price on tickets? We were thinking two day tickets but it depends on price. We were thinking about going part of a day spending the night and going the next day too. Does anyone know also of a cheap, clean place to stay close to Disney? Cheryl

Cheryl discount tickets for disney are not easy to find if you want to sit thru a time share presentation and the pressure that goes with it you can often get free or discounted tickets Also check out allearsnet.com she has a great disney info site and might have some better insight in to where to find reasonable hotels and tickets .. i am so jealous we love disney and are hoping to go next year my surgery was our vacation this year ... hows that new baby doing ??? have fun Missy

Ohh, mee too. The first week in September. I just got an email advertising the Disney value resorts for $59 per night plus tax (Sports, Music, etc.) Check their website & click on the right where it says discount. I am looking for cheap tickets too.

OMG -- there are sooooo many choices in places to stay around Disney. There are a couple resorts right on Disney (All Star Sports and All Star Music resorts) that are reasonably priced and might offer package deals. There are all kinds of places just outside of Disney at Kissimee /St.Cloud area....but for variety of things to do in between, my favorite place is on International Drive in Orlando. It's about 15 min away, and this street is just full of hotels and restaurants. You can just walk down the street to find whatever you want. If you have AAA, they might be able to score you some discount tickets, but it's usually only 5 or 10 dollars, just a drop in the bucket, really. As for eating in Disney, I recommend the sit-down restaurants, because I've found that the prices aren't that different than the hot-dogs and fries you get on the tray after waiting in line, and way healthier and tastier fare.

Whatever you do...do not buy "remainder day" tickets...i.e. someone had a 4 day pass with 2 days left on it. Many of the side of the road places sell them...not sure if there are internet places that try this also. But you cannot use someone else's days...now when you enter any Disney park you have to scan your fingers (sorta) after you insert your ticket so basically your ticket is linked to you. If you bought someone elses ticket your fingers wouldn't match it and you wouldn't be able to used their leftover days. As for AAA you might have to get them at a AAA in FL, my mom was told by a AAA in Ohio that they didn't have any discounts for Disney. For hotels, try Priceline...I was always afraid to take a risk, but totally glad I finally did! I waited until 2 days before my neice and I were going up...I had a back-up less nice hotel that I knew was still available. But I bid $50 for a 3-star hotel and got it. It was right around the corner from Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon, which is where we were going. The Value rate hotels on Disney property are also very nice! How close to Miami are you coming? Oh yeah, and at Disney you and Bo can both wait in line for a ride, then they will let one of you ride with the olders kids, and one wait with the baby...but then once the ride is finish the one that waited can immediately ride while the other parent waits with the baby. Did I explain that clearly? Hope you have a magical time, Sarah
