DAMN... insurance companies have their heads up their a**. It makes NO sense why they will pay for all the co-morbidities and not eliminate the root cause!!! It makes me sick. I don't know what to say other than it is a BUMMER. I had no chance because my ins pays for NO WLS for anyone. Maybe you should check out the Insurance link on the top of this page and see if there is ANY way you can get help. GOOD LUCK. Nancy

Jody I am so sorry, I know Dr. Schumacher pretty well, I spent the day with him in surgery back last fall, he's an awesome doc who is very passionate about his work. I am sure he is doing every thing he can to help...I don't know his staff very well, but If they work for him I am more than sure they are good at what they do. hang in there..maybe one day things will work in your favor. Jodie, Who's your insurance with? And did they state why they are turning you down? It might be that they didn't get some of the test results or something. And then, I remember one of my husband's insurance plans a few years ago had a clause in their policy that no surgery for weight loss was accepted. Find out if there is any way you can make this right. Good luck with your fight. Peg

I am right there with you 5 times denied and still trying...I just don't see any other light at the end of this FAT tunnel than surgery...If I could do it on my own i would have already done it...It is so frustrating and you begin to take each denial personally. I know what it is like to live in the limbo of waiting for this surgery...I came so close in April that I had a tenative approval and then they reversed it..I have my cabinets stocked with all my "after" supplies..My papers were resubmitted for the 6th time last Friday. I also have an appeal hearing on the 28th of July that I am not going to cancel in case they deny me again before then. I wish you luck and all I can say is don't give up...
