plastic surgery
Hey Julie and Barb
It definately depends on the surgeon and whether or not you are down to goal. I am not at goal, but will probably have a tummy tuck or lower body lift this summer. Actually, I definately will. I'll ask Dr Curry when I see him Friday, but I think my hernia is about to "bust." It used to hurt 2-3 times a month but now bothers me 2-3 times a week and I spent 6 hrs in the ER Thursday with it.
Sorry, don't mean to sound down, but I really wanted to wait until I was done loosing. And on top of that, I think the drugs they gave me caused me to gain this past week. I was steady and then suddenly gained 2.6 lbs. - yikes!!
Sharyn
Hey Sharyn, I will see you on Friday we can compare hernia's..LOL I have waited a long time too..I notice when I over eat mine bothers me a lot...so I try to be careful. I am patiently waiting insurance approval for my TT and hernia repair with Dr. Martin. You will just love him, he's awesome
Brenda
Brenda and anyone considering plastic surgery.
I agree, you will just LOVE Dr. Martin! He is an ARTIST! I was 11 months out when I had my plastics, with the approval of Dr. Curry. My weight loss was stable and I was near goal. Dr. Martin came to our support meeting in Chillicothe, I called the next day for an appointment, and had surgery within 2 weeks of my consult. He is truely amazing....he rates right up there with Dr. Curry! I am now nearly 5 months post op plastics and the swelling is starting to subside and I am loving my new body. The only downside to the WLS and the plastics is, I am still finding it hard to accept the compliments. I am so NOT used to them, that I don't really know how to handle them. I just say Thank You, and then blush like a school girl and try to change the subject. To let everyone know how much I think of Drs. Curry and Martin, it is nearly a 3 hour trip one way to both of them for me. A trip well worth it! I would do it all again in a heartbeat! Good luck to all!
Mary
I know Mary I feel the same way...I was walking through the lobby of a hotel in Lexington..Dr. Weiss (Georgetown bariatiric surgeon) and myself were having lunch with the marketing director about the conference. This man was watching me as I walked through the lobby, Dr. Weiss started grinning when I told him it bugged me when people look at me (of course being use to them making not so nice comments)....I never thought once it might be a compliment, when Dr. WEiss looked over at me and said..
"he is checking you o-u-t..with this boyish tone..it was funny..my face turned blood red..LOL
anyway I also agree about Dr. Martin, I have known him for quite awhile now..I have attended support group with him and even went to Lexington with he and his nurse the first time he spoke at the support group for Dr's Weiss and Oldham last fall.
he is so funny and what a great talent he has.
