Yea!! Got my information packet in!!

Hi! I'm new to this board. I wanted to follow everyone from Ohio to find out about the doctors available for the surgery and what yall thought about them. I'm thinking of going to Columbus to OSU and was wondering if some of you would share your experiences with this group. I ordered an information packet from them which I got in today and now it's time for me to take my next step. Any help yall can give me, which doctor you preferred, hospital, etc. would be appreciated. Also if there are any other doctors in the Columbus area that perform the surgery. Thanks, Peggy

Good Morning, I loved the care I received from OSU. The price was terrific also. My insurance Federal BCBS took care of most of the bill and they had to write-off the rest. I have only paid OSU, doctors, anesteologist (sp), assistants, and follow-up visits less than $1,000 for over $38,000 of billed services to the insurance. Doctor Needleman or Doctor Mikami are both terrific. I am glad I chose OSU for my lap RNY. Wishing you the best. No

Peggy, Hi! I don't know of any surgeons in the Columbus area, but I do work for Dr. Curry in Cincinnati and I think he's the best! The main reason I am replying though is I see you are from Bucyrus. I had my surgery at OSU and Dr Mikami was my surgeon. I am happy that I had my surgery there. The really prepare you for what is ahead of you. The support group is great as well. Some of us meet before the meetings for a little bite to eat and talk. My experience was very good at OSU. They really took good care of me while I was there and the after care has been pretty good too. Best Wishes! Julie

Peggy, Dr. Lane in Bowling Green is excellent. I am 3 mo post op and DH is 2 wks pre op. We have been very impressed with the care I received and Wood Co hospital is wonderful. They are a small facility that is really set up for WLS patients and were trained well under Dr. Hess.
