Weekend Getaway?

Hello, my Ohio neighbors! I don't post here often, usually on the main msg bd, but I have a question for you. I am in Dayton and want to get away for a couple of days with DH. Anyone have a suggestion? Looking for easy driving distance and good accommodations--not a camping kind of girl!! Thanks in advance for all your help! Hugs, Vicki

Hey Vicki It doesn't get any hotter than Columbus!! Ok, so it gets a lot hotter than Columbus - but at least it's close and cheap.

Have been there for the shopping, but what do you do for fun? How would you spend the weekend if you were a tourist?

Oh, I didn't know you actually wanted to leave the hotel. If you don't like AAA baseball, don't come here. Although, we do have summer concerts at Polaris.

Tones of things to do here in Cincininati, we have a world class zoo, Kings Island for the thrill lover, the river and tons of great food places. Good luck with your adventure...Pam

Not a bad idea. I have actually spent a couple of weekend trips in Cinti and/or no. KY and have always enjoyed it.

Vicki, Definitely take a trip here to Cincy! There is the newport Aquarium, Argosy Casinos, now granted these are not directly in Cincy, but just right over the bridge. There are beautiful hotels downtown, and lots of nightlife there! There are some fabulous restaraunts right on the river "Waterfront", that have the best seafood EVER! but go to cincynow.com, and take a look, you might see something there. the town on Yellow Springs!!! it is a favorite place for Hubby and I to spend some time! Dayton itself has a wonderful art gallery!

I live right near yellow springs. It is a very different town. Like a hippy town free spirted. I use to to really hang out there when I was young tenager and needed a place to party. We use to go to the pine forest and get totally wasted and to parks and hike the trails at night. The swinging bridge was a tripppp at night. I think they took that down. .
