I have long, very straight, fine, hair and I would like to get it cut before my surgery. The problem is I have had my hair like this for the last 20 years and I have no idea who to go to to get it cut. I don't want just a trim, I would like a cute shoulder length undercut or something of the sort... in other words I want an actual style! LOL! The cut is important because curling it is totally impossible! Anyway, I live in Hilliard so I would prefer going to someone on the northwest side of Columbus.

Susan... Go to Kenneths or Charles Penzones. I go to Kenneths.. I know its pricey.. but I have never had a bad haircut or coloring. The people go through extensive training. Just an idea..... Good Luck! Julie

I was thinking about Kenneths as well, but they always say the best way to get a good hair stylist is thru recommendations.

Hi Julie! I also have very straight fine hair, and I would recommend to wait until after surgery. The reason is that to have a "style" it will take a lot of maintaining that you're just not going to feel like doing for a few weeks. To give you an example, I start with a volumizing serum, blow dry, curl, apply styling paste for texture then hairspray. Fine hair in a cute style is high-maintenance (I thank God for todays styling products). Your long style now can be pulled back and look halfway decent when you're recovering. With a shorter style, it will look like crap and when you're feeling up to it, you'll be needing a trim already. I looked like a disheveled mess for about 4 weeks....flat hair on one side, sticking up on the other, bent and mashed, you get the idea. Now, in about 4 weeks when you're starting to feel more like yourself, a new hairstyle will be just the thing to get you feeling like a whole new woman for your new life you're just beginning. I would recommend something with layers, which will easily hide the hair loss and new growth. I've seen that people with long straight styles can tend to resemble a chia pet when the new growth comes in. I hope this helps! Valerie

Hi! I live in Hilliard too and go to Magic Cuts on RomeHilliard and Robert. Have Razak do it. They take walk-ins but put his name down. He is the only one I let cut my hair now he does a fantastic job with razor cuts to get texture. I had him do mine before surgery so it would be easy to take care of. I have had problems in the past with ahir loss and may again with this surgery and he does a good job hiding my spots. Tell him Missy/Melisa sent you. He knows I got this surgery too! Mel
