Can you Believe This new HOOP in the Medicaid Game?????

Okay most of you know I have been denied 4 times now by Medicaid.. The last time was the surprise because THEY had told me to resubmit all the new information (the ankle fracture that won't heal and needs surgery , that the surgeon will not do until I lose weight) and they would reconsider the gastric bypas...So? I get a letter stating the same as the first letter I got a year ago that I was too healthy... My doctor's office called and they suggested that I send the xrays (I guess to prove it)... I sent the xrays and actual photos and a letter priority mail last week....My doctor's office calls me and tells me that Medicaid is sending them back to me because they want the doctor's office to send them to them and I will be receiving them in the mail with a letter...I have a feeling that the letter is going to say wait for an appeal hearing and bring them to that.....And time is just wasting away...Here comes the 90 degree weather and I'm still FAT and unable to walk....I know, PATIENCE......But I think in this whole journey that this is the most ridiculous thing yet... They had the xrays in their hand, my doctor could have sent a paper stating what and whom they were for but now I am going to have to wait for them to get to me and then send them to my doctor who it turn will have to send them to the place they started at... The thing is they already have the paper from the foot doctor stating what the xrays are, all they needed was the xrays..... Well just wanted to give you guys some afternoon reading material... Thanks for listening to me rant.......

Hi Debbie Do you Ohio Medicaid or Caresource??? I have Caresource and they did almost the same thing to me that happened to you. We gathered all of the info for my Weight Lose Surgery, and my PCP sent it all in per instructions from the bariatric program. Caresource sent it all back and told them that it had to come from the Surgeons office. So they had to give it all to the surgeons office, and have them send it back to them before they would accept it. It didn't make a lot of sense to me. Anyway lots of luck to you. Jimmy

It's Ohio Medicaid.. They have had all my paperwork since last year... This was just something they wanted to go with the paperwork....They told me they needed this submitted after my last appeal hearing, so I submitted it....The worst part is I have to wait for them to send it back, and of course they will take their time...I keep thinking that the next thing they are going to try to do is fight is the 6 month diet, because they keep using so much time fighting me that it will be over a year since I did that..Thanks for writing!

I was told to stay on the diet. If you can get back on that diet with your PC and still go into monthly weigh ins. They cant knock you with that. Deb this will all pay off. We are all waiting to hear you post your approval. Hugs Barb
